Regional Development has the aim of boosting and diversifying economic activities, investments in private sector, contributing to unemployment reduction and as a result – to improvement of standard of living and economic growth, etc. Regional policy stimulates regions to use their potential and with the EU support to undertake development strategies.  

In this context, on 15-19 October 2018, the Academy of Public Administration in partnership with the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ project implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ organises the professional development course ‘Regional development’.

The main topics discussed at the training course deal with fundamental regional development concepts, current EU integrated regional development model, regional analysis and strategic guidelines on priority regional development related fields. The participants at the training will have the possibility to strengthen their capacities, develop their skills and model attitudes, including in terms of ownership in using regional development resources and instruments.

Application of andragogical methods in the training process in the form of presentations, discussions, brainstorming, exchange of experience ensure the achievement of objectives. 

The training programme is created by the teaching staff of the Academy of Public Administration and national experts who will present to participants several successful practices in the field of regional development. 

At the end of the professional development course a certificate of completion will be given confirming the knowledge and skills gained.
