Today, 17 projects proposed by the LPAs from Gagauzia TAU at the first phase of the Tender for selection of projects to be funded by the National Regional Development Fund (NRDF), during the years 2017 – 2020, were evaluated at the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction.

“The concept notes of projects were submitted at the first phase of project selection, which took place from 15 March to 3 May this year. Each concept note was evaluated according to the instructions for users and scored according to an evaluation grid. The members of the commission are representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC), the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC) of Gagauzia TAU and a representative of the State Chancellery. After evaluation of the concept notes, an assessment was made and submitted to the RDC of Gagauzia TAU, which will admit the projects for the next phase of the tender”, Anatol Usatii, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction, emphasized.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister noted that the grid of instructions also provides for eliminatory conditions, and some projects may be excluded from the first phase.

Igor Malai, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Regional Development, said that the decision of the RDCs of Gagauzia TAU will be also communicated to the LPA representatives for them to submit, in the second phase of the tender, complete applications for funding of accepted projects.

“Project notes were submitted in the fields of: local and regional roads, water supply and sewerage, solid waste management, energy efficiency and development of business infrastructure”, Igor Malai emphasized.

We remind that in the period from 15 March to 3 May this year, the local public authorities of the level I and II throughout the country were encouraged to submit concept notes of regional development projects to be funded in the period 2017 – 2020 from the National Regional Development Fund.

However, in the same period, the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction jointly with the Regional Development Agencies conducted training sessions for the local public authorities to inform and train them on the conditions of participation in the tender, development of concept notes, etc.
