Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova will provide economic agents with advice on how to prepare tender books and participate in public procurement. In this context, from July 10 to 11, 2014, in Chisinau, 20 employees of CCI, including from subsidiaries of Chamber, participate in a theoretical and practical course.

Sergiu Hare, director of the Department of Economics of CCI, said that the training takes place within an EU-funded project conducted jointly with the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, in order to prepare CCI experts in the field, so that they can to be able to advice entrepreneurs in the region.

‘The course comprises four modules, being focused on aspects of the legislation in force, the preparation and participation in tenders. The seminar is led by the national expert Ecaterina Grib.

During 16-17 July the training will continue, and the expert trainer will be invited from Germany, who will familiarise the participants with EU best practices.

Actual consultancy services in public procurement is expected to be provided by CCI since January 2015′, said the source.

Tatiana Bilba, GIZ representative, said that business people need support in this area. ‘GIZ has organized previously several projects for local economic agents and noted that businesses are not participating actively in public procurement; tender books are prepared incorrectly and their bids are not competitive. Businessmen do not receive any support, having available only the content of laws governing the field, which is insufficient. They need practical advice and examples’, said the interlocutor.

After finishing training the CCI staff in autumn, at the Chamber’s branches will be organised practical seminars for businesses.
