LPA level I and II representatives from Nisporeni, Ungheni and Calarasi rayons participated today, 25 March in an information session on the Call of Proposals for funding from the National Fund for Regional Development for 2017-2020.

The event was held in Nisporeni, with the participation of Vasile Bitca, Minister of Regional Development and Construction and gathered more than 100 potential beneficiaries of regional development projects from the three rayons mentioned above.

‘The call of Proposals carried out this year is different from similar activities held in 2010 and 2012. The new approach to identify and select the projects is based on the previous experience and aims at excluding poor concept notes. Viable projects which meet the needs of citizens, improve the living standards in the communes and cities, and develop the regions as a whole will be selected. Until 2020 NFRD will allocate around one billion lei for regional development. These financial means are insufficient to solve the real necessities of the regions. In this context, currently the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction is developing a new law draft on regional development in our country, where it is proposed to increase allocations from the state budget to NFRD from 1% up to 3%’, specified Minister Vasile Bitca. Also, the Minister appreciated mayors’ high interest in participating in the training sessions in order to get informed on the peculiarities of project submission and selection.

RDA specialists informed the participants on specific details and stages of the call of proposals. The potential applicants were, also, informed about the deadlines for documents submission, duration of the call, rules, intervention areas and eligible costs.

The interim director of RDA Centre, Eduard Ungureanu, urged the potential applicants to study the user guidelines, as well as, all annexes which will help them to properly fill in the funding requests. ‘You will find all necessary information on our agency official website, at www.adrcentru.md. You will, also, find there the evaluation grid for applications submitted. Agency specialists are ready to provide assistance in case of certain unclearities in preparing the package for application’. The Centre RDA director showed the participants how to fill in the concept note and the complete funding request.

This session is part of the information session on the Call of Proposals for funding from the National Fund for Regional Development for 2017-2020 for Centre Region settlements. On 21-30 March similar information sessions will be organised in all settlements in the region.

Yesterday, on 21 March the first session was conducted in Rezina for potential applicants from Rezina and Soldanesti. The next meeting will take place in Criuleni on 29 March for LPA representatives from Criuleni, Dubasari, and Anenii Noi rayons.
