Changing the frequency of the tender of project proposals, setting up of an analytical centre that would analyze the projects through the development of the country in the next 10 years, and inclusion of the provision on synergy of national funds are some of the main amendments requested by local authorities at the consultations that took place recently at the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction on amendment of to the Law on Regional Development.

The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Anatol Usatii, met with the chairmen of the Regional Development Councils (RDC) of the country to discuss the amendment of the Law on Regional Development.

Representing the official position of the Ministry, Anatol Usatii, together with the representatives of Regional Development Directorate of the MRDC, stressed that the Law on Regional Development in Moldova, adopted in 2006 shall be amended to increase the resources of the National Regional Development Fund (NRDF), to ensure the synergy of the national funds and guarantee the effective implementation of the regional development projects.

In the discussions, the members of the Regional Development Councils, including the presidents of Rayons, appreciated the action of the MRDC to seek the opinion of the authorities of the regions on the need to amend the law and said that cooperation of the national budget funds will enable increase in the support offered to the local public authorities of levels I and II in the regions and expansion of the area of solved problems.
