The working groups created under the five projects to be implemented by North RDA with GIZ support in the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) project and financed by the European Union have gathered on Thursday, 21 December at North RDA to approve the tender documentation for development of technical designs for construction works in the selected projects.   

The working groups formed under the two Energy Efficiency in public buildings (EEPB) related projects took part in the  first meeting, whereas the second meeting was attended by working groups from three projects in the field of Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS).  

It should be remembered, that the Financing Agreement between North RDA and GIZ on the development of technical designs and tender documentation for construction works of selected projects was signed on 8 December 2017. The total value of the Agreement is around EUR 886.000 provided by the European Union on the basis of the Grant Agreement signed between the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and the German Development Cooperation through GIZ in Eschborn, Federal Republic of Germany.

The general objective is to increase the access of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to improved water supply and sanitation services, as well as energy efficiency in public buildings.

The allocated funds will be used for contracting companies, which will develop technical documentation for the following investment projects:

In the field of Water Supply and Sanitation:
•    Improving water supply and sanitation in Edinet town
•    Improving water supply and wastewater services in Falesti town
•    Improvement of water and sewage services in Pascauti, Damascani, Proscureni, Galasani, Malaiesti and Hiliuti from Riscani Rayon
•    Improving water supply and wastewater services in the town of Drochia

In the field of Energy Efficiency in public buildings:
•    Increasing energy efficiency of ‘Iurie Boghiu’ Gymnasium from Flaminzeni village
•    Increasing energy efficiency of ‘Dimitrie Cantemir’ Lyceum from Balti municipality
 
We note, that in case of WSS project in Riscani rayon, the working group shall approve the tender documentation.

The technical documentation developed for the above-mentioned projects will serve as basis for procurement of construction works, for which additional funding from EU is foreseen.
