On 23 October, the official hand over of training equipment for the Institute of Continuing Education in the field of Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) for members of the Association “Moldova Apa-Canal” within the Technical University of Moldova took place.

This action comes as a support measure in the framework of development of training modules in WSS as part of the National Capacity Development Programme. The equipment will help to increase an interactive learning atmosphere and improve the delivery of trainings by facilitating learning during the training modules.

The event was attended by President of Association of WSS operators (AMAC), Iuri Nistor; Director of ICEWSS, Sergiu Calos; WSS operators members of AMAC and representatives of’Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) project. 

Franziska Jakobs, GIZ/MLPS International Advisor on Capacity Development, stressed that ‘ in the area of capacity development in the WSS sector, MLPS has two major objectives: to develop and institutionalize a series of training modules targeting WSS operators in order to support professional development and improve the delivery of quality services to the population of Moldova; as well as to support institutional development of the Institute of Continuing Education in the field of water supply and sanitation and the Association of WSS operators (AMAC) to deliver high quality trainings in respective fields’.

At this stage, already 14 training modules in WSS sector have been developed and there are more in the pipeline for 2019-2020.
