Working group on public procurement of South RDA made changes in the ‘Construction of Leova-Iargara main water pipeline’ project

Members of the working group on public procurement of the South Regional Development Agency (RDA), established to procure and monitor the works under the investment measure ‘Construction of Leova-Iargara main water pipeline’ as part of Leova WSS project, implemented with the support of the German Development Cooperation through GIZ via the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) project met today to discuss the need of making changes under the given project.

The rationale for the changes lies in the fact that during the execution of works within the investment measure ‘Construction of Leova-Iargara main water pipeline’ it was found that it is necessary to exclude and to include additional volumes for the completion of contracted works.

As a result, the value of the works contract concluded with the company ‘Polimer Gaz Conducte’ for the execution of works under the given project increased with MDL 67. 062, 93, which is 0,1 % of the total value of the contract in the amount of MDL 60. 857. 485,13. Now, at the final stage of work execution the total value of the works is MDL 60. 924. 548, 06.

We note, that the ‘Construction of Leova-Iargara main water pipeline’ project, which began in January 2018 is now in the completion phase. The Leova-Iargara main water pipeline will provide water for over 20.000 inhabitants from the South of Moldova, ensuring their access to modern water supply and sewage services.

The total value of the works is around EUR 3 million or over MDL 60 million, of which EUR 2.4 million is provided by the German Government via the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, whereas EUR 600.000 are allocated by the National Fund for Regional Development and Leova Rayon Council.
