On 2 October 2018, at the South Regional Development Agency, 2 meetings of the working group on public procurement in the field of water supply and sanitation took place. The first meeting was organised as part of the investment measure ‘Connection of individual households to the centralised sewage system in Rosu village’ under the ‘Improvement of water supply and sanitation service in Cahul rayon’ project. During the meeting the group examined and approved the changes made in the given investment measure. As the measure is financed by the Romanian Government via GIZ and personal contribution in the amount of EUR 190.000 and around MDL 500.000 respectively, it will benefit 442 households, 135 apartments in 3 apartment complexes from Rosu village, Cahul rayon.

Also, the tender documentation was approved and the qualifying requirements were established for economic operators, participants at the public tender for the procurement of technical supervisor services for the investment measure ‘Construction of main water pipeline Cahul – Lebedenco – Pelinei – Gavanoasa – Vulcanesti – Alexandru Ioan Cuza and internal networks of Lebedenco, Hutulu, Ursoaia, Pelinei, Satuc, Gavanoasa, Vladimirovca, Nicolaevca villages” Stage I, Phase 1.

It should be recalled, that this investment measure is financed from the Swiss Development Agency (SDC) funds / EUR 2.2 million via GIZ under the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLSP) project. As a result of stage I of project implementation around 11 km of main water pipeline will be constructed and approx. 25 km of internal water supply networks for Lebedenco, Hutulu, Ursoaia, Pelinei, Satuc, Gavanoasa, Vladimirovca, Nicolaevca villages with around 2665 inhabitants benefitting from access to drinking water source.
