During the Inter-ministerial Commission meeting in Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS), which took place on 11 February 2015, were accepted five viable project concepts (VPC) of the 11 possible project concepts (PPC) developed within the project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’, intervention area 2, ‘regional planning and programming’ as follows:
- Balti municipality – Improving water and sanitation services in residential place ‘Slobozia” and Elizaveta village, Balti municipality;
- Edinet rayon – Optimize maintenance costs of water supply and sanitation system in Edinet town and Cupcini town;
- Falesti rayon – Improving water and sanitation services in Falesti rayon (Falesti town, Falesti village and Calugar village);
- Sangerei rayon – Extension of sewerage system in Sangerei town;
- Drochia rayon – Improving water supply and sanitation services in Drochia town.
North RDA representatives and GIZ/MLPS experts conducted field visits in order to collect data for feasibility studies’ development within the 5 VPC. Thus, on 2 April, was made a visit to Edinet town, and on 9 April – to Drochia town. The working group is to make visits and in Sangerei town, Balti mun. and Falesti town.
During sessions from Edinet and Drochia were discussed issues related to financial, technical and legal aspects for the initiation of the process of drafting feasibility study on water and sanitation system.
