Today, 3 May 2016, at the expiration of 50 days after the official launch of the third National Tender for Project Proposals 2017-2020 with funding from the National Development Fund, the South Regional Development Agency (RDA) and the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction announce completion of the first phase of the above tender.

Thus, from 15 March to 3 May this year 100 concept notes developed by LPAs of levels I and II were filed to and recorded at the South RDA in accordance with the specific Objectives set out in the Centre Regional Development Strategy 2016-2020 and Sector Regional Programs.

At the end of the phase of submission of concept notes, according to the summing-up assessment made by specialists of the Project Management Department of the South RDA, it became clear that the projects submitted in the South Development Region covered the following areas: road infrastructure, water supply and sanitation, improving environmental factors, development of business infrastructure, increasing tourism attractiveness and energy efficiency of public buildings.

We note that the distribution and the share of projects by areas of intervention in the sough area of the country are as follows:

  • Infrastructure of Regional and Local Roads – 29 project concepts;
  • Water Supply and Sanitation – 25 project concepts;
  • Solid Waste Management – 7 project concepts;
  • Business Infrastructure Development – 16 project concepts;
  • Increasing Tourism Attraction – 13 project concepts;
  • Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings – 10 project concepts.

According to the tender regulation, tomorrow, 4 May 2016, a special commission composed of the representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, the South RDA, the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the South Regional Development Council (RDC) will meet and evaluate the submitted concept notes.

Subsequently, the Concepts for Project Proposals will be presented to members of the South Regional Development Council for their examination and approval in accordance with the administrative requirements and compliance with criteria of eligibility.

After examination, selection and approval by the South RDC of viable concept notes the second phase of the Tender will be kicked off, in which eligible applicants will develop and submit completed applications for funding.

We remind that along with initiation of the Tender of Project Proposals 2017-2020 with the support of the South RDA several information sessions were organized for potential applicants of the 8 Rayons of the South Region (Causeni, Stefan Voda, Cimislia, Basarabeasca, Leova, Cantemir, Cahul and Taraclia). During this period the LPA representatives were guided by experts of the South RDA to develop viable project ideas and properly complete the concept notes for development of projects with regional impact.
