Today, 23 October, members of the Strategic Planning Committee of Centre Development Region gathered in the framework of the third ordinary meeting. The meeting was held in the meeting room of Ialoveni rayon Council.

During the meeting was discussed the progress in the drafting the Regional Development Strategy and the objectives included in the draft of the National Strategy of Regional Development.
President of Centre RDC, Eleonora Graur, present at today’s meetin, welcomed the initiative to hold such events stating that only participating together at the development of strategic documents there will be good result and ensured benefit for each of the rayon in the region.

Igor Malai, deputy head of General Directorate Regional Development, within the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC), informed the participants of the meeting about the objectives and measures set out in the draft National Strategy for Regional Development 2016 – 2020. In this context, MRDC representative said that is welcomed the fact that in the process of developing the strategy for Centre Region, there are consulted all interested factors and it is very important the participation of those who will later implement this document. ‘Documents that are currently developed are written in close correlation with national documents, based on experience and evaluation of regional development process that gained weight in 2010. The evaluation performed points to some shortcomings in the existing document, enabling us to improve the new strategy and focus on specific areas that characterize the Centre Region’, added the MRDC’s representative.

Specialists within the Strategic Planning and Programming section of Centre RDA presented to Committee members the progress in developing the Strategy for Centre Regional Development 2016 – 2020. Here the participants in the meeting got familiar with the Summary Profile of Centre Development Region, but also with the analysis of the results of the exercise within the meeting no II, where the Committee members have drafted together the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Centre Region. Here each participant expressed their opinion, so that by joint agreement to properly identify the current situation of the region.

Today’s meeting ended with a practical exercise moderated by Eduard Hirbu, Expert from Business Consulting Institute, where was discussed the objectives, measures and actions for Centre Regional Development Strategy 2016-2020. Thus, each participant will consider the proposals from the experts attending the meeting and send to the Centre RDA a list of suggested improvement proposals taking into account the specific of the rayon which he/she represents.
