12 possible project concepts in water supply and sanitation (WSS) in Development Region North (DRN) have been accepted for the monitoring and identification of funding sources stage in a joint meeting of possible project concepts evaluation (PPC) in the WSS sector, organized by the Regional Development Agency North (RDA North) and the German Development Cooperation through GIZ.

PPC assessment session, where participated RDA North specialists and experts offered by GIZ, is the result of the five workshops on regional planning in WSS conducted and a consultative meeting on the completion of records for possible project concepts in WSS.

Within the meeting there were examined 15 project concepts in all rayons in the DRN. Thus, the meeting members agreed for the next stage, of monitoring, 12 possible project concepts. However, two project concepts were rejected, as they will be financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

In order to improve PPC, especially those proposed by Mayor’s office Balti and Edinet, it was given the deadline of 8th of April, 2014.

The 12 PPC accepted today by the evaluation committee will be monitored and , where necessary, improved. It will then be decided the possibility of identifying sources of funding for the most viable PPC.
