On 25 July 2018 members of Monitoring Committee of ‘Modernization of Local Public Services’ (MLPS) project implemented by German Development Cooperation through GIZ met in a working meeting with partners. The goal of the session was to discuss the project activities and progress in the reporting period January – June 2018 and activities planned for the following period.
The event was attended by representatives of Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MARDE), Regional Development Agencies (North, Centre, South and TAU Gagauzia), of Academy of Public Administration (APA), development partners and MLPS co-financing partners, as well as, MLPS project advisors.
Dorin Andros, State Secretary, MARDE: ‘These meetings make an efficient platform for discussions. We will point out the challenges and try to find together solutions in this respect. I am very glad we are in a complete formula and it is very important for all to get involved and participate in the discussions to take place. Also, I would like to thank my colleagues from the MLPS project for the support and assistance provided daily to us’.
Christina Otto, MLPS project manager: ‘We came up with some changes as regards the meetings of the Project’s Monitoring Committee. We, also, have come with several new proposals, in particular, inviting and involving other partner institutions like APA and Technical University of Moldova (TUM). Further, beginning with this meeting the representatives of partner institutions will be involved as well, making the presentations. As to the overall situation in the MLPS project, it is to be mentioned that we are doing good with the implementation of activities. Still, there are certain challenges which we will try to discuss today and identify solutions to them.
During the meeting, MLPS/GIZ advisors talked about the achievements and challenges encountered in the four intervention areas of the project during the reporting period. They, also, mentioned the activities planned for the next quarter and pointed out the challenges that might appear in the future, identifying, at the same time, the possible solutions in this respect.
