On 18 July Centre RDA specialists made working visits in Ungheni and Calarasi towns and together with the mayors of these localities and designers collected data from the field for the development of two water supply and sewage (WSS) related technical designs.

These meetings were, also, attended by advisors of the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and representatives of expert company ‘Fichtner Water & Transportation’. As a result of constructive discussions the involved parties positively approved the changes made in the work plans.

According to feasibility study, the total length of water supply networks to be designed is 25.590 m (including 1130 connections). The value of contracted services is of approx. MDL 6.2 million provided by the European Union.

The rehabilitation and extension works for water supply systems will be initiated by Centre RDA in 2019.

The projects are financed by the European Union via the ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ project implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and North RDA and financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish Government, the Romanian Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
