The representatives of small and medium enterprises will be trained in terms of presenting more professional and competitive offers within tenders carried out by the Regional Development Agencies.

The training sessions will take place from October to November 2014, as follows:

Centre Development Region

  • Hincesti – October 17. Including Basarabeasca and Cimislia rayons.
  • Orhei – October 30. Including Rezina and Telenesti rayons.
  • Ungheni – November 7. Including Sculeni.

North Development Region 

  • Edinet – October 22. Including Briceni, Ocnita and Donduseni rayons.
  • Soroca – October 29. Including Drochia and Floresti rayons.
  • Balti – November 14. Including Falesti, Singerei and Glodeni rayons.

South Development Region

  • Cahul – October 24. Including Taraclia, Giurgiulesti and Cantemir.
  • Causeni – November 12.
  • Comrat – November 13. 

The complementary support to the private sector is provided by the consulting company Sequa, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI) and its local branches. The training sessions are held with financial support from the European Union, offered within the project “Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova”, implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, in partnership with the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) North, Centre and South.

The training agenda covers the following topics:

  • Challenges faced by the economic agents in the public procurement process.
  • Legal Issues in public procurement. Obstacles encountered by the economic operators.
  • RDAs experience and difficulties in conducting public procurement procedures. Practical recommendations for economic operators.
  • Support provided by the CCI in providing information to economic agents and preparing tender documentation.

During the sessions, four priority areas in the regional development:

  1. Water and sanitation;
  2. Energy efficiency in public buildings;
  3. Solid waste management;
  4. Local and regional roads.

Each session shall be attended by 20-30 representatives of small and medium enterprises willing to participate in tenders for regional development projects.
