Meeting no. 5 of the regional sector working group (RSWG,) Energy Efficiency (EE) in public buildings on the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme (RSP) and evaluation of Possible Project Concepts.
South Regional Development Council has approved in February 2014 the Regional Sector Programme in energy efficiency of public buildings. Regional Sector Programmes are operational tool in regional planning, with the aim to enhance the ability of LPAs in the development of sustainable regional projects and create conditions for development of projects’ portfolio in energy efficiency, incorporating the development needs of the sector concerned in Development Regions, respecting its compliance with sector policies, existing practices and relevant strategic framework.
In this context, in South Development Region was held the 5th meeting of the regional sector working group (RSWG), Energy Efficiency (EE) in public buildings on the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme (RSP) and evaluation of Possible Project Concepts.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Energy Efficiency Agency, Energy Efficiency Fund, South Regional Development Agency, energy managers and MLPS project experts.
In the beginning of the event, South RDA Director, Mrs Maria Culesov said ‘Today’s meeting is completing a series of activities, because there were already selected project concepts. The Republic of Moldova has a major objective related to energy efficiency, therefore we need to complete the proposed projects and vindicate people’s expectations’.
The participants in the event analysed the progress on the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme in Energy Efficiency (EE) in the South Development Region. At the meeting, the participants were presented the Viable Project Concepts (VPC) approved by the inter-ministerial committee that was held recently. Thus, for the South Development Region were selected Viable Project Concepts from Stefan Voda, Basarabeasca and Leova rayons.
We would like to recall, the project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services’ (MLPS), intervention area II ‘Regional Planning and Programming ‘aims to provide support to the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and RDAs in regional planning in the EE in North , South and Centre Development Regions.
