It was held the 5th meeting of the regional sector working group (RSWG) on Energy Efficiency (EE) in public buildings on the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme (RSP) and evaluation of Possible Project Concepts (PPC).

Today’s meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC), Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Energy Efficiency Agency, North Regional Development Agency (North RDA), energy managers and experts of the project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova ‘ (MLPS).

During the meeting was considered the implementation of the Regional Sector Programme in Energy Efficiency in public buildings in North Development Region. Experts presented to the sector working group members the evaluation’s results on Possible Project Concepts (PPC) in terms of providing the status of Viable Project Concept (VPC). The participants were familiarized with the list of priority VPC for North Development Region, recently approved by an inter-ministerial committee.

For the North Development Region were selected five VPC in Falesti, Sangerei, Edinet, Rascani rayons and Balti municipality and soon will be created project teams for each of them. In the today’s meeting were discussed the role and responsibilities of the members of the project teams.

Both workshops and meetings on EE were organized with the support of MLPS project, intervention area II, ‘Regional Planning and Programming’, which aims to provide support to MRDC and RDAs in the process of regional planning in the EE.

We would like to recall that on 13 February, North Regional Development Council approved the Regional Sector Programme in EE (public buildings). The document is an operational tool for regional planning that will enhance LPA’s capacity in developing sustainable regional projects and create conditions for developing energy efficiency projects in the North Development Region.
