During 28-29 May 2015, in Vadul lui Voda, local managers of pilot investment projects financed by the German Government through the Regional Development Agencies were trained on how to ensure the smooth implementation of projects and how to achieve the desired results using relevant instruments.
Through this activity performed within the project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ was intended to develop planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring skills in relation to activities of the pilot projects financed by German Government sources through the German Development Cooperation through GIZ , based on the five key aspects that contribute to efficient local public services: 1) integrated local planning and programming; 2) improve cooperation between local public administrations (LPAs); 3) investments in infrastructure optimization for local public services provision; 4) capacity development of LPAs and service providers; 5) mobilization and awareness raising of the population
‘Improving performance in project management through enhanced capabilities to timely manage challenges encountered in implementing the projects, will allow local managers to assess and streamline their activities, according to the local implementation plan’, says Liuba Babalau, specialist in project development, implementation and monitoring from North RDA.
However, local project managers were further informed about the role and responsibilities in cooperation with various actors involved in the implementation of projects, which will create the conditions needed to ensure success factors in the implementation of projects. Also, the training is an appropriate support for North Regional Development Agency, as the institution that facilitates the implementation of projects at the level of North Development Region.
Local project managers received certificates confirming the participation in the workshop, which lasted 16 hours. According to the organizers, such trainings will be organized in the future as well.
