The implementation of the pilot project on the development of WSS sector in Leova rayon has a specific framework content  for projects implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ in Moldova, where are involved five main components, the so-called Pentagon. This mechanism includes the following steps:

  • Integrated local planning and programming;
  • Improve cooperation between local public administrations (LPA);
  • Investment in infrastructure optimization for local public services delivery;
  • Capacity building of LPAs and service providers;
  • Mobilization and awareness rising of the population.

Within the component related to infrastructure optimization for local public services delivery,  will be achieved construction works at the project ‘ Main water pipe Leova-Iargara’, where the German government has approved investments of over MDL 50 million.
