On 19 April, the Institute of Continuous Training in Water Supply and Sanitation services (IFCAAC) has organised for members of Moldova Apa-Canal Association (AMAC) the first working group meeting for the development of a new module, on ‘Implementation of investment projects in Water Supply and Sanitation sector’. Both the event, as well as, other related activities are supported under the ‚Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) project.

The working group consists of AMAC, IFCAAC, Technical University of Moldova (UTM), Municipal Enterprise Chisinau ‘Apa-Canal’, the Congress of Local Public Authorities (CALM), German Development Cooperation through GIZ and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) representatives. The actors involved will develop the training curricula, draft the agenda of the training sessions, identify trainers’ and monitor the Module implementation.

Starting 2015, AMAC and IFCAAC are implementing the National Programme of Increasing Capacities of Actor’s in Water Supply and Sanitation field. The programme consists of a number of training modules having the objective to develop capacities of technical and managing staff of water supply and sanitation operators and local public authorities. So far, 9 training modules were developed, as a result of which 149 employees within 43 Operators obtained training certificates awarded by UTM.

The project ‘Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) is implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and is financially supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish Government, the Romanian Government, the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
