Vasile Bitca, Minister of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) met today, 13 March with His Excellency Pirkka Tapiola, Head of EU Delegation in Moldova.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the partnership and cooperation between the EU and Moldova, EU assistance projects in regional development and construction, support for the implementation of Euro codes and launch of information campaigns on regional development ‘Building the future at home’.

The Minister Vasile Bîtca expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the EU for regional development and appreciated ‘the confidence the EU shows to the Republic of Moldova in general and the MRDC in particular through Twinning, TAIEX and other projects’ . At the same time, Vasile Bîtca mentioned the benefits of the partnership between the MRDC and DG Regio, under which a number of training activities for MRDC specialists were held and study visits to EU countries were organized.

In turn, Pirkka Tapiola, Head of EU Delegation in Moldova stated: ‘The European Union will continue to provide financial and logistical assistance in regional development through projects such as Building the institutional capacity (CIB), TAIEX, Twinning, Cross Border Cooperation (CBC) ‘. His Excellency underlined that ‘one of the determining factors in terms of regional development is inter-ministerial collaboration’.
