After five years of practical implementation of regional development concept, we may find the creation of all legislative and institutional prerequisites for starting the next stage of the process, and nameley internationalization, and absorption of EU cohesion funds, said the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar within the international Forum ‘Overcoming regional disparities’, held in Chisinau, with representatives of over 20 countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Valeriu Lazar, who is also president of the National Coordination Council for Regional Development, said that line institutions – Ministry of Regional Development and Construction , Regional Development Agencies , the Council and the Regional Development Fund and other institutions – are fully functional and represent a good platform for the correct and agreed establishment between stakeholders at central and local level regarding priorities based on which it is possible to allocate internal and external resources that target at developing country regions and elimination of disparities between them with maximum efficiency. The official called for the internationalization of the process, so that the RDAs to take over the best European practices and the Forum held in Chisinau is a good opportunity to take over successful and shortening experience of the path to a robust and inclusive economic development of the regions of the Republic Moldova.

The Minister, Valeriu Lazar emphasized the actuality of the theme, or disparities in developing one country’s regions are supplying dangerous processes that put pressure on internal stability and integrity.

Valeriu Lazar said that business incubators network, developed by the Ministry of Economy in the regions of the country with the support of development partners has effectively integrated in regional development instruments in order to achieve the overall objective for qualitative and inclusive economic growth, providing equal opportunities to citizens of the Republic of Moldova throughout the country, access to infrastructure and improved quality of life.
