Today, Chisinau hosted the National Conference ‘Cross-border cooperation: achievements of the Republic of Moldova during 2007-2013’. During the event there were discussed issues related to the implementation of CBC programmes in our country.

Anatolie Zolotcov, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction stressed that the conference presented and discussed best practices and lessons learned over the past six years. Thus, the event was a perfect platform for a direct and extensive exchange of experience in cross-border cooperation.

‘The conference was attended by representatives of programmes and institutions involved in the management of CBC programmes. The results of the event will contribute to the design and management of programmes in the field for the years 2014-2020. It was organized, as well, an exhibition of projects funded under Cross-Border Cooperation Programmes, as to promote partnerships made by the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the conference will stimulate stakeholders to identify and develop projects and help them to successfully apply for EU funding’ said Deputy Minister Anatolie Zolotcov.

However, conference participants reported that this was an opportunity for the new generation of programmes that are funded under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) and are expected to begin this year. In this context, experience and responsibilities undertaken by various actors from Moldova in the management and implementation of cross-border projects and programmes will play an important role.

We would like to recall, that the event was organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction in cooperation with German Development Cooperation through GIZ.
