In Orhei was held the founding meeting of the Local Steering Committee (LSC) of the pilot project ‘Increasing energy efficiency in Orhei regional hospital’.

The meeting was attended by the Director of General Directorate for Regional Development within the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Mr Valerian Binzaru, representatives of the Ministry of Health, Centre RDA, LPA of level I and II, Orhei rayon Hospital, Eastern Territorial Agency of the National Health Insurance Company, German Development Cooperation through GIZ and NGO from Orhei Rayon.

During the meeting, there was presented the MLPS project in the EE sector for Orhei rayon, and based on the Memorandum of Understanding approved on 16 December 2014, the signatory parties discussed the implementation plan for the pilot project ‘Increasing energy efficiency in Orhei regional hospital’.

The Local Steering Committee of the project ‘Increasing energy efficiency in Orhei regional hospital’ will serve as a platform to ensure better cooperation between key stakeholders in the project implementation, in particular, and regional development policy in general.

According to the LSC regulation, there were elected the following:  the president of LSC – Orhei Rayon deputy president, S. Muravschi, deputy president of LSC – head of Construction, Local Administration and Roads Section, Orhei Rayon Council, Gh. Stirbu and secretary of LSC – Mrs Diana Croitoru, specialist within Economy and Investments attraction section, Orhei Rayon Council.

At the same time, the members of the Committee examined and approved the LSC Activity Regulation.

Those present agreed that until 4 March, representatives of Orhei Rayon Council will appoint a local manager for this project.

Also, GIZ will facilitate the transmission of technical documentation of the project to the beneficiary (RC Orhei).

In the process of MLPS project implementation, GIZ together with partners: Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Councils and Regional Development Agencies have selected seven pilot projects in three priority sectors: water supply and sanitation (WSS), solid waste management (SWM) and energy efficiency in public buildings (EE), to be implemented by the RDAs, with technical and financial support from GIZ Moldova.
