On 1-2 March, the ‚Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’ (MLPS) project, implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ will organise a workshop on the implementing modalities for local public service projects.
The objective of this action is to empower the local managers and specialists from Regional Development Agencies (RDA) in local public service projects planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting based on quality criteria. The event will, also, provide an opportunity to create a platform for communication and experience exchange between the participants.
The workshop targets local project managers, specialists from RDAs responsible for project implementation, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MARDE), as well as civil society organisation representatives.
Following the signing of the Agreement between Germany and the European Union for the implementation of the project financed by EU ‘Construction of Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency in public buildings’ implemented in cooperation with the MLSP project, on 15 February 2018 the official signing of the Memoranda of Understanding for local public services modernization in the sectors concerned took place.
Accordingly, the participants at the event will get acquainted with the project documents such as Memoranda of Understanding and annexes to them, standard operational procedures, visibility and communication rules, as well as reporting system. A particular emphasis will be given to the role of civil society in project implementation process.
The interactive nature of this event will allow for group work and case studies to take place. During two days the participants will have the possibility to receive advice on and apply in a practical manner the participatory local planning and programming procedures, inter-municipal cooperation, investments, capacity development of Local Public Authorities and service operators, community mobilization.
