During 14 – 17 July 2015 in Chisinau, within the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) will be hosted a new round of consultations of the working group on the development of the National Strategy for Regional Development (NSRD) 2020. During four days meeting, representatives of MRDC, German Development Cooperation through GIZ and Polish experts from the Ministry of Instrastructure and Development of Poland (MIDP) will discuss the first draft of NSRD 2020.

During the first day of work, 14 July, the parties involved in the drafting of NSRD 2020 discussed the latest developments on the new document. In the opening session, Dorin Andros, head of Policy and regional cooperation Department of the MRDC expressed gratitude for the cooperation and assistance of parties involved. Grzegorz Pragert, expert of the Development strategies and policies coordination Department of MIDP presented the latest developments related to the work of experts and Angela Dumitraşco, GIZ Advisor on Results Based Monitoring, Evaluation and Management presented the first version of NSRD 2020.

In the second part of the day, the Polish expert, Daniel Bilinski, head of Regional Policy and Territorial Instruments Division within the Development strategies and policies coordination Department of MIDP made a presentation about the tools on the implementation of NSRD referring to territorial contract and the expert Tomasz Kot from the same ministry, described the strategic monitoring and evaluation mechanism.

We would like to recall that the second stage of consultations on the development of NSRD 2020 took place during 16-19 June 2015 in Chisinau. Representatives of MRDC together with experts from Poland and the German Development Cooperation through GIZ have analyzed and discussed the first results of developments on the new document and also set the agenda and work priorities for further activities. The activities for the development of NSRD 2020 are conducted within the project ‘Support to local public administration in the Republic of Moldova in the development of the National Strategy for Regional Development 2020′.

National Strategy for Regional Development is the main document for regional development planning, reflecting national policy and determining national mechanisms in this area. The current Strategy for 2013-2015 outlines the prospects for regional development in Moldova and defines the instruments and mechanisms for achieving strategic objectives.
