Today, at the South Regional Development Agency (RDA) the works contract for works to be carried out under the ‘Construction of the main water pipeline Leova-Iargara’ project was signed. The total value of the contract is around EUR 3 million or over MDL 60 million, of which EUR 2.4 million are provided by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany via the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and EUR 600.000 are allocated from the National Regional Development Fund (NRDF) and by Leova Rayon Council.

It is to be noted, that the ‘Construction of the main water pipeline Leova-Iargara’ project is a component part of the ‘Modernization of Water Supply (WS) Local Public Services in Leova Rayon’ project.

The duration of contracted works execution is 9 (nine) calendar months. The construction works will be monitored according to national legislation in force and by international experts delegated by GIZ.

The main water pipeline Leova – Iargara to be built, will be around 23,0 km long with the following localities being connected to it: Leova and Iargara towns, villages of Filipeni, Romanovca, Sarata Noua, Hanasenii Noi and Cupcui with a total number of 23.433 inhabitants.

Partners at local level are citizens from initiative groups, Local Public Administration (LPA) from Leova rayon, Leova Rayon Council and JSC ‘Apa-Canal’ Leova, the WSS service operator from Leova town.
