The Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and Regional Development Agency Center, with the support of German Development Cooperation through GIZ, held yesterday, the 6th of March, the Workshop no.1 of the Technical Working Group on the local and regional road infrastructure (LRR). These meetings are conducted within the project “Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova” and as part of the activity plan of intervention area 2 “Regional planning and programming.”

To improve the quality of this document, which is in the interest of all stakeholders and beneficiaries, the workshops were attended by representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, Center Regional Development Agency, the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, the LPAs of CDR, as well as road maintenance enterprises from the Center region. At the same time, these sessions are conducted with the support of GIZ experts, who will assist local specialists in developing a quality document.

“It is important to know that these workshops are organized in order to interact, get to know each other and learn common skills as to develop a quality document from reliable sources. Sectorial regional plan must derive from national road policy, which is promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, and therefore in our meetings it is present, as well, the representative of this state institution, so as together to develop the plan that we have set from the start” communicated Igor MALAI, deputy head of the Directorate General, MRDC.

“The need for such a document for CDR was established, as well, at the 2nd Call for project proposals, when at the Center RDA were registered 99 proposals of which 32 were in priority regional roads. Out of these, in the Regional Operational Plan for the period 2013-2015 we have 16 projects approved in the Single Programm Document “, said Tudor MESINA, Director of Center RDA.

The result of these meetings is seeking the development of Regional Sectorial Program in RLR sector and a portfolio of regional investment projects. The planning process is carried out by the Technical Working Group consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, RDA Center, Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, Rayon Councils, guided by national and international experts.
