A group of journalists from several national and local media institutions, members of the Association of Independent Press (API), conducted a visit on Monday, 27 April 2015, of several tourist destinations in the north of the country, where the North Regional Development Agency (RDA North) implemented regional development projects financed through the National Fund for Regional Development (NFRD) resources.

The first destination of the journalists was Glodeni, ‘Padurea Domneasca’ Natural Reservation, where North RDA implemented ‘Padurea Domneasca Ecotourism Route Planning’ project, for which NFRD provided over 5.5 million MDL. Thus, accompanied by project manager Aurel Bodean, journalists visited the mill located near Moara Domneasca village and the ‘La Fontal’ pension, located near Cobani village.

We note that a tourist information point and a belvedere for the mill were built in Padurea Domneasca, while three pensions, of seven beds each, as well as camping and parking spaces for cars, were built around the ‘La Fontal’ relict lake.

The arboretum in the village of Taul, Donduseni, was the next destination that journalists visited. At Taul, the location of the largest arboretum in the country, North RDA is implementing ‘Rehabilitation of Pommer mansion historical-architectural monument and the access road to the arboretum in the village of Taul, Donduseni Rayon’ Project. Journalists met with the deputy President of Donduseni Rayon Council, Tatiana Cojocaru, and the mayor of Taul, Andronii Mitrica.

So far, during the two stages of implementation of the Taul project, the NFRD allocated about 9.5 million MDL for the construction of 0.293 kilometers of metal fence, 2.807 kilometers of wire mesh fence, the renovation of 0.387 km of antique fence and the central gate of the park, as well as the renovation of the museum-house.

The visit took place as part of ‘Increasing the visibility of regional development programmes in audiovisual media’ Project, funded by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, and under a partnership agreement signed by API and the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction.
