A delegation from Kargazstan came to our country to study the regional development policy. The foreign officials are here to learn about the evolution of the regional development process in Moldova, including the initiation of the process, the legal framework approved and the institutional framework.

Thus, on 4-7 November, the delegation from Kyrgyzstan will visit the development regions of Moldova, discuss with representatives of central and local authorities in order to learn about the successfully implemented regional development project, about planning and regional development and establish the role of the LPA in attracting financial resources for the development of the region.

The foreign delegation discussed today at the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction with representatives of the General Department for Regional Development (GDRD) and the specialists of International Relations and Attracting of Investments Department (IRAID) about the history and the structure of the ministry, the regulatory and legal framework, the role of rayon councils in implementation of regional development policy, the general provisions of the National Strategy for Regional Development and the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (NFRD).

The Head of GDRD, Valerian Bînzaru explained the objectives of the National Strategy for Regional Development and mentioned the functions of the National Coordination Council for Regional Development (NCCRD) in allocating financial sources from the NFRD. The official also talked in detail about the procedure for selecting projects financed from the NFRD, including the stages of conducting a call for project proposals.

In turn, Svetlana Rogov, the head of IRAID talked about the impact of external assistance and existing forms of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

ollowing an exchange of information, the representatives of Kyrgyzstan delegation compared the methods and the forms of implementation and coordination of the regional development policy in our country with those applied by similar institutions in their country. They thanked for the availability of Moldovan counterparts to share their experience and expressed their openness for establishing new partnerships and bilateral cooperation on specific projects.
