Experts in communication and project management of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) and the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) North, Centre and South participated during the period 21 – 22 July 2014 at a production workshop, where have developed the concept of a national communication campaign on regional development. The exercise was facilitated and financially supported by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, through the project ‚Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova’.

The training session started with the presentation of steps to be taken in order to reach the decision to conduct a campaign starting with draft ideas, slogans for commercials, fliers or online promotion, combined harmoniously in order to change behaviors and attitudes.

“This kind of exercise can stimulate mutual communication at intra and interregional level. However, ideas have been launched to promote the concept of regional development”, affirms the communication expert Dorin Constantin Todosi, one of the instructors.

In turn, the producer Dumitru Marian, said: “The participants learned to use the crucial tools in communication, to organize their ideas so that the objective of the campaign is implemented in commercials, movies or other means of promotion.”

“We learned how to prioritize a campaign based on the target audience and beneficiaries. It was a useful lesson in communication” says press officer of the MRDC, Ecaterina Grigorean.

The concept of the campaign, sketched during the two days of the workshop will be improved and put into practice by the end of 2014. The communication campaign will be conducted with the financial support of the European Union.

GIZ facilitated during previous years trainings in communication, photojournalism. Through such training sessions, GIZ project aims to increase the capacity of its partners – the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and Regional Development Agencies – to coordinate and monitor regional development process. Thus, in order to achieve this fact, we need an effective system of communication, both internally and externally.

The project ‘Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova’ is implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and is financially supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the European Union.
