A delegation from the Swedish Government composed of Martin Fredrikson, Desk Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden; Månstråle Dahlström, Second Secretary, Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau; Henrik Huitfeldt, Counsellor, Head of Development Cooperation, Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau; Stefan Jansson, Advisor, Senior Expert in Energy & Finance, Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova; Andrei Darie, National Program Coordinator, Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau have visited today, the 28th of February, Orhei Regional Hospital.
The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Regional Development Agency (Center RDA), German Development Cooperation through GIZ and local authorities from Orhei rayon.
Swedish officials have expressed interest in the implementation process of the pilot project “Increasing energy efficiency of Orhei Regional Hospital” and following the presentation by Elena Palanciuc, Director of Orhei Regional Hospital of statistics, have convinced themselves of this project’s success. Other three rayons benefit from the services of this hospital. Thus, this institution has a regional impact. At country level, there were determined 10 health regions including Transdniestria, and each region will have its regional hospital. Orhei Hospital is one of these hospitals.
Swedish diplomats praised the professionalism of all those who were involved in implementing the project and welcomed the idea of investing in the future in other development projects in our country.
A similar project was approved for implementation this year in order to increase energy efficiency in Nisporeni. Thus, the Development Region Centru continues to benefit from the financial support of international donors, including Swedish, by whose contribution occurs the raising of the citizens’ living standard.
The pilot project “Increasing energy efficiency for Orhei Regional Hospital” was implemented by RDA Centru during November 2012 – December 2013 and the total amount of the project was 6312,00 thousand MDL.
