14 employees of the Academy of Public Administration, Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) and Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) have participated on the 4th of March, 2014 at a training course entitled “New Perspectives in leadership.” The exercise was facilitated and financially supported by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, through the project “Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova”.

The training started with the statement of mission, vision and institutional values ​​by each participant. This action was realised as to emphasize that all activities in which they work tend toward a common purpose and direction of development.

The participants had the opportunity to reflect on the individual skills of leaders, as well as ways to motivate leaders at both individual and team level, but also on the method of taking responsibility at the organizational level, depending on the situation.

“The seminar was an opportunity to learn more on leadership and new teaching methods for adults.I hope we will continue the collaboration initiated for studying best practices in staff training, as well as dissemination thereof”, reports Aurelia Tepordei, director of professional development within APA, Academy of Public Administration of Moldova.

For the year 2014, several activities were planned as to continue this collaboration, and one of them is the development of training materials of the training program “Leadership development in public administration” and its pilotage.

In March 2012, the Academy of Public Administration of Moldova (APA), the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) and the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of regional development policies through capacity building of LPAs, RDAs RDCs (Regional Development Councils) and the trainers involved.

The project “Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova” is implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ and is supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the European Union.
