The extension works of the sewerage networks in the city of Costesti, Riscani rayon, are performed according to schedule. Until now, there were constructed 7.5 km of sewerage network of over 11 km planned and 228 homes built.

Thursday, 10 September 2015, specialists from the Project management Section of North RDA conducted a monitoring visit to Costesti, where together with the parties involved in the project ‘Extension of sewerage networks in Costeşti city’ discussed divergences in the project’s technical documentation, taking into account a number of possibilities for their solution.

Previously, it was determined that the construction works should be supervised both by technical officer from North RDA and two technical experts from the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, one national and one international. These are Colm McCabe, international expert, and Dumitru Schivu, national expert.

The construction works are carried out under a pilot project conducted by North RDA and financially supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the European Union, through GIZ.

The total value of the project ‘Extension of sewerage networks in Costeşti city’ funded from external sources mentioned above, amounts to MDL 6.19 million. This project is part of the pilot project ‘Improving water supply and sanitation services in Rascani rayon’, totaling MDL 20.84 million.
