At a meeting of the South RDA specialists with the national and local experts of the International Cooperation Agency held this week, at Cimislia, the implementation partners reviewed and discussed the Operational Plan of the MLPS 2016-2018. The working meeting proved to be appropriate to discuss the issues related to milestones and activities proposed in the Operational Plan of the MLPS.

The partnership between the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) and the Regional Development Agencies in Moldova is promising, following which all parties involved in regional development will have to benefit. The statement was made on Wednesday, 6 July, by the Director of the Department for Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia within the Central Office of GIZ, Manfred Horr, at the North RDA, where he was accompanied by representatives of GIZ Office in Chisinau and officials from the MRDC.

Senior officials from Switzerland – His Excellency, Manuel Sager, the General Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), E.S. Elisabeth von Capeller, Deputy General Director of the SDC, Director of the Department of Cooperation with the countries of Eastern Europe, and Simone Giger, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, made today in the afternoon a visit to the centre of residence of the South Region.

Regional development issues were discussed today at the meeting of the Prime Minister Pavel Filip with representatives of the donor community that funds projects in this area. The Prime Minister thanked the European partners for their long-term support in implementing the reform agenda and support of the European course of the Republic of Moldova, including through assistance projects of regional development.

At the second ordinary session of this year, 41 of the total 48 members of the North Regional Development Council (RDC) decided to approve 39 of the 54 concept notes for the regional development projects submitted by the local public authorities of levels I and II of the North Development Region. They were admitted to the second phase of the Tender of regional development projects that will be implemented from the resources of the National Regional Development Fund in 2017-2020, in accordance with the Tender launched by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction (MRDC) on 15 March this year.

The members of the Centre Regional Development Council (RDC) met today, 17 May 2016, in a regular meeting where they decided which projects will be selected for the Phase II of the Call for Project Proposals III. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Centre RDC, Eleonora Graur, who welcomed the members of the Council and urged them to collaborate effectively with all structures involved in the New Call for Project Proposals.
